MUYIL Project

Jan -09-2019

A team from KASA Hotel Parota in Tulum recently worked to provide much-needed support for the local Mayan community in nearby Muyil. We provided a variety of supplies for many families of all ages in the small town of Chun-Yah, including educational and household items, clothing and toys. The Mayan people have called the Riviera Maya home for thousands of years and there are still many native families living in rural societies throughout the region. Today, visitors enjoy driving through these Mayan villages on their way to explore the many area attractions, but beneath the surface beauty there is also great need, and we are here to help.

With 80-miles of white-sand beaches stretching south from Cancun to Tulum, the Mexican Caribbean has emerged as one of the world’s hottest vacation destinations, but for generations the pre-historic Mayans had their own private paradise here on the Yucatan Peninsula. Today, visitors can still marvel at the ancient Mayan cities, and the entire Mexican Caribbean region is still full of Mayan traditions, tales, food and culture.
